1. Conditions for admission to the Tournament.
1.1 Anyone with the following software is allowed to the Tournament:
- IL-2 Sturmovik — Battle for Stalingrad (actual release version at the time of the Tournament);
- Voice communication program Discord;
- Voice communication program Skype.
1.2 One Participant from one account of the IL-2 Sturmovik simulator is allowed to participate in the Tournament.
1.3 Pilots from any country are admitted to the Tournament.
2. Tournament order and general provisions.
2.1Competition allow flights on the following types of aircraft:
- BF-109 F-4
- Yak-1 (series 69)
2.2The first stage of the Tournament is Qualification.
2.3Qualification is held on the official IL-2 servers of the event (clause 2.18) from 1.06.2023 to 11.06.2023. To participate in it, it is necessary to pass the Qualification Race Track according to the scheme (Section 10) with a final not zero result. A non-zero result is considered to be crossing the finish line with a final time. The result of the race “DNF” (Did Not Finish) does not count.
2.4If the pilot wishes to continue participating in the Tournament, then after receiving the result, the pilot must go to the VIRPIL Controls Community Servers website (Section 9) and fill out the “Participant Questionnaire”. From this moment on, his subsequent results are recorded by the organizers of the Tournament as an application.
2.5From the general list of all Participants on all aircrafts, a qualifying grid is formed, through which 2 groups of 10 pilots with the best results among the modules of their group will participate in the Final (Top-10).
2.6All aircraft in the Tournament are divided into two groups: “A” and “B”.
2.6.1Group “A” includes BF-109 F-4.
2.6.2Group “B” includes the Yak-1 (series 69).
2.7 One pilot is allowed to participate in several groups.
2.8After the finalization of the Qualification results, the selected pilots indicate on the VIRPIL Servers website the groups in which they will participate in the Finals part of the Tournament.
2.9 The online part of the Tournament is the Finals stage (Top-10).
2.10Finals (Top-10) will be held June 17th 2023. At this stage, in case of non-attendance of automatically selected Participants, the pilots with the next best result can take part. The exact time of the Finals will be announced after the Qualification.
2.11Qualification is carried out in the mode of timed flights (time attack).
2.12The finals are held as the mass start race flights on specially designed Finals Race Track.
2.13 The order of starting positions at the finals is determined according to the time shown during the Qualification of the Tournament from best to worst.
2.14The order of flights of groups in the full-time stages of the Tournament:
- Group "A"
- Group "B"
2.15The graphical progress of the Participants is displayed on the VIRPIL Servers website (Section 9).
2.16 Distribution of prizes:
- The winner of the Qualification is the player who showed the best time in one of the groups;
- First, second and third places in each group of the Tournament are occupied by Participants who showed three best results in the Final (Top-10) in each group respectively;
2.17The prize fund of the Tournament consists of:
2.17.1 Qualifying winners within each group are awarded coupons for the VIRPIL Controls webstore in the amount of 50€ valid for 3 (three) months.
2.17.2 1st place winners in each of two groups (“A” and “B”):
Or coupons for the VIRPIL Controls webstore in the amount of 300€ valid for 3 (three) months.
- Any 1 (one) standard module for IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles to choose from.
2.17.3 2nd place winners in each of the two groups (“A” and “B”):
Discount coupons for the VIRPIL Controls webstore in the amount of 200€ valid for 3 (three) months.
- Any 1 (one) collectible aircraft for IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles to choose from.
2.17.4 3rd place winners in each of two groups (“A” and “B”):
Discount coupons for the VIRPIL Controls webstore in the amount of 100€ valid for 3 (three) months.
- Any 1 (one) script campaign for IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles to choose from.
2.17.5 Each Qualifier may receive a one-time 5% discount in VIRPIL Controls stores, valid for 3 (three) months and a promotional code for IL-2 Sturmovik webstore.
2.17.6 Participants of the Final (Top-10) who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in both groups become members of the VPC Founders Club with an unconditional lifetime discount 5% for all VIRPIL Controls products in the official webstores of the project.
2.17.7 More detailed information on the prize fund: the procedure for its assignment, the conditions for issuing prizes and other additional information are described in Annex No. 1 to this Regulation. The cash equivalent of prizes is not allowed. Tournament winners must pay personal income tax on the value of the prize (income received as part of participation in the Tournament) in accordance with the tax legislation of the country in which they are tax residents.
2.18The game servers for the Tournament Qualification are the official game servers of IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles:
- Online game mode Co-op.
- Servers are divided into groups and have names:
- WarBRD Race Tournament =Group A=
- WarBRD Race Tournament =Group B=
The list of servers and their purpose in the Tournament is not final and may be changed by the organizers during the Tournament.
2.19The voice server for communication between players and organizers during the Tournament is “VIRPIL Controls Community Servers” Discord Server through which Participants and winners are informed by the organizers.
2.20The official languages of communication at the Tournament during the races are Russian and English (international).
2.21All dates and times are in the format − «UTC+0 (UTC+3)».
2.22 By participating in the Tournament, Participants accept and undertake to comply with the rules and conditions of these Regulations.
2.23 The fact of participation in the Tournament and the fact that the Participant fills in and sends the Participant Questionnaire means the consent of the corresponding Participant to the processing of his personal data (last name, first name, e-mail address, nickname in the game, age, country, photo) for the Tournament, including transfer by the organizer of the personal data provided by the Participant to third parties in order to select the winners of the Tournament and inform the winners about the prizes in the Tournament.
2.24 Employees of the organizers, family members of such employees, as well as employees and representatives of any other persons directly related to the organization or conduct of this Tournament, are prohibited from participating in the Tournament.
2.25 The Organizers are not liable in case of failure to fulfill their obligations due to the provision by the Tournament Participant of incomplete, outdated, inaccurate personal data.
3. Rules for conducting race flights.
3.1 Flights are carried out according to the Race Track scheme (Section 10).
3.2The Qualification of the Tournament is a series of paired sprint races on the Tournament Race Track with free order.
3.3The start of the Qualifying races is carried out automatically 7 seconds after pilots occupy the racing slots.
3.4The Finals of the Tournament are mass start races with a start in the air according to the starting grid.
3.5 The maximum allowable ping (ping) of a Participant during head-to-head races must not exceed 300 ms. If a Participant exceeds the maximum ping value, he is not allowed to race.
3.6 In case of a single loss (for a Participant) of the connection to the server during the preparation of the race, he is warned. If Participant was unable to reconnect and was disconnected from the server a second time, he is disqualified.
3.7 The lags of the Participants (lags, trajectory instability, disappearances, etc.) and their influence on the Finals races are evaluated by the arbitrators and, by their decision, the Participant may be given a technical defeat in the race.
3.8 The procedure for the Finals of the Tournament:
- Before the start of the flights, the Participants and the Arbiter must be in the Discord voice communication system (in the “Race” channel; p. 2.19) and on the server of the IL-2 Sturmovik — Battle for Stalingrad simulator (p. 2.18) specified by the Arbiter;
- The Arbiter has the right to remind the Participants of the basic flight rules and other excerpts from the Regulations at his discretion;
- Participants must take the allotted slot and start the race as soon as the server continues the mission at the command of the Arbiter;
- Fixing the lap time is done automatically using a script in the mission;
- Missing the gates will require flying through them one more time;
- Any adjustment of the aircraft systems by the standard means of the simulator is allowed;
- The victory in the race is awarded by the referee according to the best time shown through the mission script and according to clause 3.1;
- At the end of the flights, the Arbiter gives a voice and / or text command and the Participants go to the observers.
3.9In the Finals, in case of damage to the aircraft, as well as the occurrence of failures and malfunctions, the following rules apply during the passage of the route:
- Partial power loss, i.e. reduction in engine efficiency during the passage of the track is not considered a malfunction, leading to a nullification of the result of the race.
- A complete loss of power before the end of the race track is considered a critical failure and entails a zero result (DNF).
- After completing the race track the Participant must be able to make a soft landing. A plane crash after crossing the finish line and ten seconds after that results in a zero result.
- The final decision on the result of the race in the event of the situations described in paragraph 3.8 is made by the Arbiter.
4. Acceptance of applications and registration of Participants.
4.1 Each player wishing to take part in the Tournament must enter any of the Tournament servers specified in clause 2.18, then fly the Qualification Race Track to receive an automatic Qualifying result. There is no limit to the number of Qualifying attempts. Qualification is limited in time according to clause 2.3.
4.2Upon completion of the Qualification, pilots selected for the Finals (Top-10) must have a completed profile on the VIRPIL Controls Community Servers portal containing the following fields and data:
- Name
- Family name
- Language (English or Russian)
- Country
- Pilot photo*
- Squad*
- Squad Logo*
- Age*
Fields marked with * are not required, but are recommended.
Confirm that the Tournament regulations have been read and the pilot agrees with the rules by ticking the appropriate checkbox.
After the pilot fills out an application according to the specified form, the player is hereinafter referred to as a Participant (of the Tournament).
The final decision on the continuation of participation or disqualification of the Participant remains with the chief Arbiter of the Tournament.
4.3 The Participant's game nickname must be unique and may consist of Latin (classic) and Russian characters (including numbers and special characters). Nicknames, for example, "Aleksey", "Kolya", "John", etc. simple names are prohibited. Applications with simple nicknames will not be accepted for consideration and will not be included in the general list of registered Participants.
4.4 The start of qualification / registration of Participants begins from the moment the start of the Tournament is announced.
4.5 The tournament will be held from June 1st 2023 till June 17th 2023.
5. Tournament Arbitration. Rights and obligations.
5.1 -DED-Rapidus (Mikhail) has been appointed as the Chief Arbiter of the Tournament.
The following persons have been appointed as Arbiters:
1. =VIRPIL=Hellboy (Mikhail);
2. =VIRPIL=MI1T (Dmitry);
5.2 Tournament Arbiters are responsible for the implementation of these regulations by all Participants in the Tournament.
5.3 The Chief Arbiter has the right to dismiss line Arbiters from work and is the highest authority in resolving disputes, both between line Arbiters and between Participants.
5.4 The Chief Arbiter may resolve conflict situations that are not provided for by these regulations.
5.5 Arbiters have the following rights:
- Issue warnings to Participants in case of minor violations (no more than two warnings for the entire Tournament);
- To remove Participants from the Tournament in case of exceeding the limits of their warnings;
- Remove without explanation the Participants who grossly violated these Regulations (insults in the chat, Discord or Skype voice server, etc.).
- The arbitration panel or one of the arbitrators in a disputable situation has the right to demand from the Participant additional data for objective control (including the flight track and other means available in the IL-2 Sturmovik - Battle for Stalingrad);
- The chief Arbiter has the right to consider and / or refuse to consider complaints from the Participants.
5.6 The arbitrators have the following responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with the Regulations constantly and impartially throughout the Tournament;
- Arbiters, along with the organizers, are obliged to keep a complete record of the results of all races on the VIRPIL Controls Community Servers website.
5.7 Minor infractions are:
- Purposeful distortion of the language of communication in voice chat;
- Entering the server of the match with a nickname that does not match the one declared during registration. The use of nicknames containing technical words like "Server", "Admin", similar to them and their variations;
- Leaving the cockpit and/or becoming an observer before the referee's command.
5.8 The following are considered gross violations:
- Ignoring the requirements of the Arbiters located on the server;
- Entering the server of the match with a nickname containing a direct or indirect insult, which is a curse, or allows for an ambiguous interpretation.
- Use of any modifications of the simulator IL-2 Sturmovik — Battle for Stalingrad and its modules.
- Intentional damage to the objects of the track or aircraft of other Participants.
- Clear and deliberate violation of the rules of the route.
6. Organizers. Rights and obligations.
6.1 Responsibilities of the organizers:
- Provide a platform (servers IL-2 Sturmovik — Battle for Stalingrad) for the Tournament (clause 2.18);
- Timely bring the necessary information to the Participants through the VIRPIL Controls Community Servers website and via Discord.
- Keep a complete record of the results of all matches on the VIRPIL Controls Community Servers website.
6.2 Rights of the organizers:
- The organizers have the right to suspend a Participant in the Qualification or the Finals of the Tournament if serious violations are found or in case of actions that prevent the conduct of the Tournament that are not described in these Regulations.
- The organizers have the right to terminate the Tournament ahead of schedule without distributing the prize fund in the event of circumstances of an insurmountable nature.
7. Participants of the Tournament. Rights and obligations.
7.1 Participant rights:
- The Participant has the right to appeal the decision of the line Arbiter by contacting (through the voice system Discord) to the main Arbiter of the Tournament within an hour after the decision of the line Arbiter. In this case, the Participant must clearly state the essence of the complaint. After this period, it is impossible to appeal the results.
7.2 Participant Responsibilities:
- Provide the required data upon registration in accordance with section 4.
- Provide the data requested by the Arbiters (the panel of judges) (clause 5.5).
- Be ready to conduct an online race at the time indicated by the Tournament schedule, including your own appearance, both in the Discord voice system and on the specified IL-2 Sturmovik — Battle for Stalingrad match server (clause 2.19).
- Be ready for post-match interviews with the broadcast of the interview on the target streaming services of the Tournament (clause 2.21).
- Observe the rules of staying on the servers designated by the organizers as venues for the stages of the Tournament.
7.3Participants are prohibited from:
- Insult in any way other Participants of the Tournament in any communication channel officially used during the Tournament,.
- Show intolerance based on ethnic, religious or political views.
- Use an excessive number of messages in chats.
- Use public sections and chats to discuss personal issues.
8. Protocol "Race - Result"
(“Mass start race”)
8.1 The start of the match takes place in the presence of the Participants and the linear Arbiter in the Discord voice chat (Skype is used as a backup communication platform).
8.2Participants on the referee's command occupy slots according to the starting grid. With the permission of the arbitrators, Participants may take a slot in advance.
8.3The Arbiter, by verbal command, gives a warning “Start in 1 minute”.
8.4After the allotted time, the Participants must be ready for the start of the race.
8.5The arbitrator verbally confirms the general readiness of the Participants and organizers and by technical means gives the start to the race.
8.6Each race continues until the mission script fixes the preliminary results or the referee commands in the voice chat: “Race is completed, join spectators”.
8.7After the end of the race, the arbitrator checks the exact time of the Participants, determined by the mission script and confirms the final time result.
8.8On this Protocol "Race — Result" for the group is considered closed.
